It was my pleasure working with Lucas from the beginning of the season’s Blind Auditions. Whether he was singing Elton John, Foreigner or his Coach John Legend’s song, he always paid great respect to the original artist. I just loved working with him to infuse his own originality, musicality and style into other artists’ material, and he did it with instinctively good taste.

Each and every new season presents an opportunity to work with a diverse and unique assortment of talent, style and character—and Season 29 is no exception!
Beginning with last Monday’s premiere, our first-time three-coach panel of champions featuring Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Adam Levine is battling it out in a new format, with game-changing new rules, stunning new performers, and glorious visits from celebrated former Voice artists.
What an exciting Saturday night at a packed Pasadena Civic Auditorium seeing Season 26’s winner, Sofronio Vasquez, light up the stage with that golden voice! Just one of the many highlights was hearing Sofronio sing “My Grown-Up Christmas List” accompanied by the song’s composer David Foster.

Tonight, NBC premiered Season 28 of The Voice with our extraordinary coaches Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan and Snoop Dogg. Pictured here are Season 28’s background vocal coaches—from left to right: Tamara Beatty, Vocal Producer Trelawny Rose, India Carney, and me. I have the pleasure of working with these master coaches as we protect the voices of these singers from strain, improve their tone, bring out their unique style, build their confidence, and help turn their outstanding natural talent into lasting artistry.

Working with Huntley on “She Talks To Angels” for his Blind Audition opened a direct line to his soul as well as his heart. It was a trip he was ready to take, and he rode it all the way to victory. Our sessions were powerful, spiritual and filled with laughter, tears and joy. I’m so proud of you Huntley—not only as an artist, but as a human being. Spread your love and light, my friend.
Tonight, our coaches Reba, Niall, Gwen and John begin the rewarding task of assembling some truly stellar, powerhouse teams—and sharing their experience, wisdom and hearts with an outstanding group of talents.
I’m thrilled to be a part of this very special season!
The Voice threw an amazing Season 23 Wrap/Blake Send-off Party. Congratulations to winners Gina Miles and Niall Horan!
Working with Gina on “The One That Got Away” for her Blind Audition drew me to the unique and distinct sound of her voice. What a joy to watch her move through the show with grace, elegance and heart. Another highlight of Season 23 was getting to work with two formidable talents, Noivas and D. Smooth. Both were voted to advance to the Finale, as artists in the season’s Top 5. Our sessions for their Blind Auditions were potent, spiritual, and their artistic growth blew me away. To both of them I say, Please continue doing what you love to do, because we love it!
And then there was the Cassadee Pope reunion! What a delight to see Cassadee after 11 years! I worked with Cassadee on “Torn” for her Blind audition on Season 3, my first season with The Voice (watch it here). You’re still rockin’ it, Cass!
Right before this photo was taken, I had the opportunity to tell Blake that if I could give him just one gift, it would be for him to know how warmly people speak of him when he isn’t around to hear it. Blake Shelton, you are beloved!
Blake has had an amazing run over the course of his 12 years and 23 seasons on The Voice. From winning a record nine titles on the show, to working with some of the biggest names in music, to meeting his wife Gwen Stefani, it seems there’s nothing Blake hasn’t done throughout his time on The Voice.
It’s been my thrill through the years to glean from his wisdom, experience, and his hilarious, gut-busting sense of humor!
